PTA, EEF & how we work together
-
PTA
The WV PTA’s mission is to encourage and support a positive school environment for our students, staff, families and community. We do this by sponsoring and funding programs, recruiting and mentoring volunteers and working in collaboration with the WV staff. The PTA works in collaboration with the teachers at WV by volunteering in the classrooms and school and providing a teacher stipend to be used for classroom items. The PTA supports WV students and families by holding events to raise money for each class’s 6th grade graduation events, producing yearbooks and assisting families in need. The PTA fosters community by organizing the many fun community events for our school, including the Book Fair, classroom parties, Science Night, the Art Fair, Field Day and the Carnival. The PTA also fosters community outside of our school by providing donations and items for those in need in our area. See a list of all PTA-sponsored activities here.
The PTA’s funding comes from small-scale fundraising - through PTA memberships, spirit wear proceeds, donations and participation in the many events sponsored by the PTA.

Together
Westwood View enjoys a long-standing reputation as a vibrant community school. Parents and educators at WWV share a unique dedication to helping students become well-rounded, community-focused and innovative future adults who respect and appreciate the diversity and uniqueness of others. The PTA and EEF are both integral to enhancing the education students receive at Westwood View.

EEF
The Educational Enhancement Foundation (EEF)’s mission is to enhance the learning environment for the children attending Westwood View, to increase the effectiveness of instruction at the school, and to strengthen the ties between the school and the community.
The purpose of EEF funds is to provide support for programs that help our students learn and grow and that are outside of the realm of school district spending.
The EEF’s funding comes from the annual Westwood View Auction.
Some recent projects and programs funded by the EEF include: supplemental salaries to support the art and music teachers, a new turf soccer field and soccer goals, a new stage, a full-time counselor position to promote student emotional & behavioral well-being, musical instruments to support the arts, and support for the Maker Space.
More information about the EEF can be found here or on Facebook.
